Silly Girl

I have been quite sick today, so I've been sitting on the recliner in my bedroom. LK sat with me for a good part of the afternoon. At one point she was being so silly, and to get me to laugh she put her toe in her mouth. I did laugh, and so she did it a few more times. Silly girl!

Tired

Before my kids bedtime I let them watch an episode of Curious George. As my kids watched it I ran downstairs to find something. While I was looking the show ended. AK came to find me. LK, on the other hand, got into her bed, and for any of you who know her, you know that is NOT normal. This is how I found her, with her blanket on her and everything. Apparently she was tired tonight. ;)

Books

Today I watched my sisters kids while she took her son to a movie. We were all in my room while the little girl I babysit was sleeping. AK convinced his cousin HS to read him a book. He LOVES Scooby-Doo right now. I read him the Scooby-Doo books we own multiple times a day. It was nice to let his cousin read to him while I got to just listen and cuddle my little boy.

Winner!

I play words with friends with my brother, and I have lost the last few games. However, I finally beat him again. Proud moment! :)

Sale!

My sister called me today, telling me there was a sale at The Children's Place. We went to look, and discovered that ALL the winter clothes were 2.99, plus you could get 15% off your entire purchase. Nice, right! So I bought next years winter clothes for AK (shirts and jackets) and a few sweaters and shirts of various sizes for LK. I also bought them each the jackets they are wearing in the picture and the hats (for $0.50). I sure love finding a good sale!!

Donuts

At the end of our grocery shopping today, we let AK and LK pick out a donut to eat on the way home. They were both quite excited, as they LOVE donuts!

Surgery

PM had some skin cancer removed from his lower eye lid today. In the first picture you can see the chunk that was cut out. The second picture is as he was in recovery after the doctor stitched it up. The third picture is his eye all stitched up. He is doing well with it, and hasn't been in too much pain, which is nice.

Cooking

LK was very excited to help me make breadsticks for dinner tonight. She enjoyed putting in the ingredients and rolling out the dough. I loved having her help me!!

Superheroes

These are the superheroes in my house! They fight dragons, ghosts, and monsters. They protect their mommy. I sure love them and their imaginations!

AK even got his daddy to play superheroes with him, and loved every moment of it!

Dragon

AK continued to play all day with the dragon he picked out on Saturday. In this picture he had just attacked his daddy.

Gift card choice

AK and LK each got a gift card to target from their grandparents for Valentines Day, so yesterday we took them to the store and let them pick out a toy to buy. It was fun to watch them make their decisions. AK picked 7-8 toys, and then narrowed it down to one (a dragon) LK just looked at the toys, and didn't pick one up until the end (princesses and a wooden birthday cake). They have both carried around their toy of choice for 2 days, playing with it non stop.

Self portrait

AK and LK discovered the camera on my phone a while ago, and I find pictures like this all the time. It always makes me laugh!

Blanket

I changed the sheets on AK and LK's beds, and AK wanted to pick his blanket, and I am so proud of what he picked...a soccer blanket is an EXCELLENT choice!

Nap Time

As if there was any question about them being brother and sister.... :)

Crash

LK decided to ride a lion on wheels toy down the stairs, which obviously didn't go well. She face planted down the stairs, hurting her nose and arm. Poor girl.

Finger Puppets

Aunt SH gave AK and LK a bunch of finger puppets. AK discovered them recently, and has enjoyed putting them on his fingers and playing make-believe with them.

"Aye matey!"

AK and LK spent a couple hours at SH's house today while I was at the dentist. They got to play with some pirate hats, and both of them made me smile as they would say 'Aye matey".

Matching jammies

AK and LK's aunt SH made them matching pajamas. They LOVE them! They also thought it was pretty cool that they had the same jammies.

"Look at me, mom!"

AK put on his dad's hat and then had to show us both. He thought he was so funny (and it did make me laugh). He is so handsome in a hat. I love it!!

Playing catch

We played catch multiple times today. AK and LK especially enjoyed playing catch while sitting in a chair, which caused them to tip over and laugh.

Play Time

LK and AK enjoyed playing together with the 2 toys LK got from us for her birthday. I'm working on filling out LK's birthday book, and I asked her "Who is your best friend?" Her answer, "AK." That's not a surprise to me. They really are best friends, and I love it!

Cars

AK had a ball today playing with his cars on his and LK's car mats. I enjoyed watching him play make-believe.

Baby legs

LK got these cute baby legs for her birthday from her grandma. She was so excited to wear them today.

A funny story as we were driving in the car:
AK: LK is a girl.
LK: I'm not a girl. I'm a princess.
AK: You're a princess?
LK: Yes, I'm a princess.
AK: Oh, you're a princess.

Doctor visit

Today LK had her well-check at the pediatrician's office. She was SO good. She had to get 1 shot. As they stuck the needle in her she said, "ouchie!" And then cried for maybe 30 seconds. She stopped crying when I showed her she got a bandaid. As we were walking out, she was so happy because, as she said, "I have a bandaid, an ice cream, and a sucker." The shot wasn't so bad after all.

A day to celebrate

Today is LK's birthday. She has LOVED all the attention and birthday wishes. She smiled every time anybody said happy birthday or called her birthday girl. She also loved that she got to pick the movie to watch BECAUSE it is her birthday. Oh the grin on her face!! We spent the evening of her birthday at TS's house, watching the Superbowl. LK enjoyed playing with her cousins, and eating cake with everyone there. It was a good day for sure!
